San Pedro man critical after being shot several times

By BBN Staff: Official information released by authorities referencing the San Pedro, Ambergris Caye shooting reported earlier is that the victim, 31-year-old Nelson Zetina, is alive but in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH).

Zetina was shot multiple times just before 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Sacachispas Football Field located on the corner of Angel Coral Street and Buccaneer Street in San Pedro Town.

Zetina was initially taken to the San Pedro Polyclinic for treatment but later had to be airlifted to Belize City.

Reports are that Zetina was playing football, when the man accused of being the shooter, who has since been identified but cannot be named because he has not yet been officially charged with any offense, allegedly came and opened fire on him.

Police have the prime suspect in the crime detained pending charges.
