Tornado reported in Billy White, Cayo; no injuries confirmed, trees uprooted, property damaged

By BBN Staff: Residents from Billy White, Cayo contacted Breaking Belize News this morning about a reported tornado that ripped through the village uprooting trees and causing some damage to property in the area.

According to residents, just around 8:30, there was some rain that preceded the twister followed by the alleged tornado. Residents say there were more than 30 people who witnessed the twister which had a funnel cloud.

Residents say the system traveled approximately 2 miles before it dissipated but not before causing damage to trees and property in its path.

Residents are now assessing damage and trying to confirm if there were any injuries sustained by anyone in the area.
