US Authorities investigating ‘drug deal gone bad’; Belizean man reportedly involved

BBN Staff: American law enforcement officials were called out to an active shooting at Marriott Erie Bayfront Hotel in Erie, Pensylvania yesterday around 5:49 pm.

Officers arrived at the scene and saw a Chevrolet vehicle leaving the area. Authorities stopped the vehicle and met two Chicago men who were shot inside the vehicle.

Eyewitnesses reported that the shooters ran off in different directions.

At the location, authorities found a “significant quantity” of suspected heroin. Authorities believe that the shootout stemmed from a drug deal gone bad.

Law enforcement authorities told Go Erie News that one of the wounded men is believed to be from Belize since officers found a Belizean passport at the scene.

It is suspected that the culprit may also be wanted by the Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

US authorities did not reveal the names of those involved.
