By BBN Staff: Social media has been abuzz this weekend with news of the senational death and apparent beheading of well-known pastor Llewlyn Lucas from Dangriga.

Police have since released the name of the suspect and details of his detention.

According to police, on Friday at around 8:30 p.m., William Mason, who was being sought by Belmopan CIB in connection with another ongoing investigation, was spotted at a location in Belmopan.

Police visited the location where an Indian man identified himself as Mason. Police then conducted a search, which led to the discovery of a 9-millimeter pistol with five live rounds.

A further search was also conducted on his black Ford F150 pickup truck without license plates. At this point, according to police, Mason started behaving in a strange manner and told police he couldn’t find his car keys.

As a result, a search was conducted in the back of the vehicle where officers found a black bucket containing a white sack with a freshly cut human head covered up with duct tape.

The driver window of the truck was then broken and entry was gained into the vehicle where police found a magazine containing four  .9mm live rounds,  a pump action shot gun and a pouch with eight live cartridges of ammunition. The vehicle and Mason were then taken to the Belmopan Police Station as investigations continue.
