COVID-19 vaccine trials underway for children younger than 12

By Zoila Palma: Children aged 12 to 15 are now able to get the COVID-19 vaccine in the United States.

Adults around the world have been encouraged to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loves one against COVID-19.

But, vaccine trials are now underway for children younger than 12 years old, NBC reports.

Moderna is currently undergoing the TeenCOVE trials with children aged 12 to 17.

They are now enrolling children between the ages of 6 and 11 for their KidCOVE trials in May.

The company then plans to move on to children as young as 2 before finally testing children as young as 6 months old.

The company says that they are starting with lower dose of the vaccine and then work their way up to a higher dose.

The KidCOVE trials will be studying the Moderna vaccine in almost 7,000 children under 12.
