Man who robbed cable company in Santa Elena told police an employee was in on the crime

Posted: Monday, April 19, 2021. 6:56 pm CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: The man whom police have arrested for the weekend robbery of Cayo Television Network (CTN), told police that he had help from one of the company’s employees.

The robbery happened just after midday on Saturday, April 17. The man walked into the CTN office in Santa Elena Town, and placed an object, suspected to be a knife, on the chest of a female cashier, handed her a bag, and demanded money. The cashier then instructed her coworker to put the money from the day’s sales in the bag, which the robber took and left.

Police quickly learned the identity of the robber and executed a search warrant at his home where they found the bag, a large amount of cash, and a knife believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.

During interrogation, he confessed to police that he did commit the robbery and that the cashier whom he had held the knife to, was an accomplice in the crime.

BBN will release the names once official charges have been made.
